The following criteria are considered by Qalam when making an admission decision:
- Your interview(s) with a Qalam Enrollment Counselor
- Your results from the Qalam Readiness Assessment

General Admissions Requirements
- Submit Statement of Purpose
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Interview with a Qalam Seminary Counselor to determine “fit” with Qalam’s expectations
Successful Qalam students are self-disciplined individuals with a strong commitment to gain and internalize Islamic knowledge, not just earn a degree or take courses. For each six-month term, you’ll be scheduled for a full-time course load, though students are given the option to complete more courses in a term.
Handling a Qalam course load requires dedication. Students typically spend an average 15-20 hours per week on studying. However, there is a certain level of flexibility given to the student in terms of where and when they study.
As a Qalam student, you will be expected to put in substantial time and effort to realize your educational and career potential. Along the way you will be supported by our faculty and staff, including a dedicated mentor, an innovative learning environment, and learning resources. As always, we pray for the acceptance of Allah (swt) with everything we do.
