The Paths to Knowledge
At Qalam, we are committed to making sacred knowledge as accessible as possible. Our five-year Seminary program is designed with our students in mind. Students can choose from full-time or part-time courses, and in-person or online learning. The program is also designed with strategic exit points after Year 1 and Year 2 to facilitate and support students to pursue their unique personal goals. Those students who wish to complete the entire program will graduate at the completion of Year 5.

Year 1: Classical Arabic and Essential Islamic Knowledge
Year 1 is offered only in a full-time capacity. Students may choose to conclude their studies at Qalam after Year 1 and earn a certificate in Classical Arabic and Essential Islamic Knowledge.

Year 2: Foundational Islamic Sciences
Year 2 is offered at full-time and part-time capacities. Students may choose to conclude their studies at Qalam after Year 2 and earn a certificate in Foundational Islamic Sciences.

Year 3–5: ʿĀlimiyyah
Years 3-5 are offered at full-time and part-time capacities. At the completion of the full five-year program, students receive an ʿĀlimiyyah degree qualifying them to serve in their communities.
